Okay, so it’s time for a real post. Well, a lot has happened. Let’s start with: 1. Relationship status: Spencer and I are no longer together. It’s been that way for a while, but when it first happened we both got fifty million questions about it all. It was a mutual breakup, that’s something that must be very clear and understood, and we are still close friends. We were both having feelings for other people, and those other people returned those feelings. We decided that it would be better for us to break up and be with those other people than to suppress those feelings. Now he’s with someone who can’t be name yet, even though pretty much everyone already knows, lol. And I’m with Ken. All sides are happy. ^_^ 2. You’ll kill me for this one: Some people already know about this. If not, then you probably don’t have a Facebook or just don’t check it often. I’m joining the Army National Guard. I’m going to MEPs on Wednesday, well its Tuesday evening and staying overnight, because MEPs starts at the ungodly hour of 0500. So to make sure we are there on time we stay at a hotel near Ft. Meade and all go together. I’m not making this choice for anyone else, and it’s not on an impulse. I’ve been looking at the military for years, since sophomore year actually, with the only question being which branch to join. After a whit load of research and talking to recruiters and stuff, I’ve finally decided. And I really could do ANYTHING I wanted in the Army, because I got a 95 on my ASVAB (95th percentile actually), So really I could choose a career that’s safe, out of the way, and much higher up on a pay scale. As it is I may get better benefits and stuff because my ASVAB was so high. But I wanted to do something combat related, no such luck there. As a female, I’m not allowed to take any really combat related jobs. I can, however, be an MP (military police). I had looked at it even before it was suggested to me, and the suggestion just solidified that choice for me. So as of Wednesday, November 19 2008, I will be Private Moloney, future MP in the US Army National Guard. Until I go to Basic in the summer, I will attend drill at the 581st, which is for people who are waiting to go to Basic. It will teach me a few things to get me ready for basic and will get me into shape for it too. It’s once a month and the first one is actually the weekend following my enlistment. Even after Basic I will still be in the area, living at home, and stationed at the Catonsville Armory. But Basic and AIT will be about 5 months long and will be in Missouri. I’m actually really looking forward to everything, but I really need to get myself into shape before I ship. And yes, my mother knows. When I told her there was a lot of yelling, and crying, and yelling, and crying, and trying to convince me not to join it. She even tried to forbid me from doing it, but I told he square on that there is nothing she can do to stop me. 3. Not much else is really going on: I mean, there was a lot going on with the relationship status and with the Army, but that’s pretty much it. Oh, well, Doug is leaving for Basic this coming Tuesday. If luck is with me, then I’ll see him at the hotel before he leave, since we’ll both be there that Tuesday. Otherwise, his going away party is tomorrow, and it should be fun. I’m gonna miss him while he’s gone, but at least there are letters. Also, Blake cam home a short time ago from Basic. He’s different, but not too much. He’s obviously more confident and he’s much better with people now. I don’t feel on edge talking to him anymore, like I did before he went to basic. He’s very amusing and he can actually be a good friend. But he’s going to Virginia, to his post this coming week I believe. But he’ll be around occasionally I’m sure. Spencer is thinking about joining the Navy or the Marines. He is going to get his knee evaluated to see if it’s okay for military service this week, and then he’ll make a decision. It’s funny, I guess I’m more hypocritical than I thought; I’m all excited about my future with the Army, but I wish that my friends would just stay away from it. Well, at least Doug will be a chef, and therefore relatively safe. Even if he gets shipped anywhere, he’ll always be in the green zone. Well, I think that entry was sufficiently long. Lol. Later guys! <3 |
